When I first picked up Savage Hearts by J.T. Geissinger, I didn’t know what to expect. I had heard good things about the book, but I wasn’t sure if it would be my cup of tea. I’m so glad I took a chance on it, though, because it turned out to be one of the best books I’ve read in a long time.
Savage Hearts is a historical romance set in the Scottish Highlands during the Jacobite Rebellion. The story follows the two main characters, Keira and Connor, as they fall in love against the backdrop of war and political upheaval. Keira is a strong-willed woman who is determined to protect her family and her home. Connor is a fierce warrior who is fighting for his country. Despite their differences, they find themselves drawn to each other and soon embark on a passionate love affair.
What I loved most about Savage Hearts was the characters. Keira and Connor are both complex and well-developed characters who I couldn’t help but root for. I also loved the setting of the story. The Scottish Highlands are a beautiful and rugged landscape that perfectly complements the story’s themes of love, loss, and redemption.
