Why Princess and the Player by Ilsa Madden Mills is Necessary
As a young woman, I found it difficult to relate to the protagonists in the romance novels I was reading. They were often perfect, beautiful, and had no flaws. I felt like I could never measure up to them.
When I read Princess and the Player by Ilsa Madden Mills, I finally found a protagonist who I could relate to. Sloane is a flawed character, but she’s also strong, funny, and kind. She’s not perfect, but she’s trying her best.
I think Princess and the Player is necessary because it shows that it’s okay to be flawed. It’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to not be perfect. Sloane is a reminder that we all have value, even if we don’t fit the mold of what society tells us we should be.
